What's in Store for 2020 at The Cotton Patch?

We blinked sometime in March 2019, and all of a sudden it's 2020.  What a whirlwind year 2019 has been! New Year's is always a good time to reflect on the past year and have a mindful look at the future.  2019 was fun for us, but what's in store for 2020?

New - Block of the Month Programs
As you know, all of our Block of the Month programs are designed in-house.  In 2020, that won't change!  Designing these projects is so much fun for us, and we will keep offering unique and exclusive projects throughout 2020.  But what's new for 2020?  Look for more by-mail and pickup programs, skill builders, stash busters, and fabric challenges!  We already have a few designs in the works and will be posting more about these projects soon!

New - Fast and Easy Projects
Sometimes we get so focused on those bigger projects that we forget how fast, fun, and impactful smaller projects can be.  This year look for make-and-takes that are a snap to make, but are totally fabulous.  And, what a great way to get those gifts done early for birthdays and the holidays?  Just saying.  Keep your eyes to the Newsletter for more details!

New - Fabrics
It's no secret that we love fabric.  We are truly a fabric-centric shop, and we know what we like (hint: just about everything). But just when we think we have seen just about all the fabric industry has to offer, we find some new fabric vendors and designers that knock our socks off!  In 2020 look for some new and unique companies on our shelves. We are excited to support some of the up and comers in the fabric world.

More - Fabrics
You've told us and we've listened!  Look for more blenders to help supplement your stash.  We have some really fantastic blenders coming in 2020.  Grunge and Shadow Play are great, but we have some gorgeous lines coming from a variety of companies, not just the usual suspects!  It's all about those tricky colors and fun visual textures.  We can't wait for them to get here.

More - Patterns
We are beefing up our pattern selection! In years past we haven't sold many of our in-house designed patterns outside of Block of the Month programs, but in 2020 that is going to change!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all our friends near and far who spent the year with us - we enjoy seeing you and your projects in the shop every day, and as a brick-and-mortar shop, we wouldn't be here without you!

Turtle Bay Block of the Month

Work has begun on constructing our Turtle Bay Block of the Month! You may have seen the mock ups on our Facebook page:

This is a skill builder Block of the Month, but it's not as scary as it sounds!  You will learn how to use templates, and how to put in a pieced border, but the rest is stuff you've done before in other projects.  The line is Turtle Bay by Maywood, and it makes us yearn for summer already!

We worked on the green, triangle filler blocks today and they're coming along great!

Join us on this project and watch your skills grow!

Welcome!

Hey, we made a blog!  Between our Facebook and our website, we decided it was time to have a resource to more specifically showcase what we're working on and what's coming up.  We will still absolutely send our Newsletters, update our Facebook, and keep our regular website going, but this is a place for showing you some of the inner shop workings and goings on.

A couple notes:
  • As winter gets rolling, any store closures or events will be posted on Facebook, not necessarily here.  You do not have to have a Facebook page yourself to view our Facebook Page - we made sure it is a public business page so anyone and everyone can have a look.
  • While we will be posting some projects from published patterns, we will also be posting some original designs.  Please do not retrodesign these patterns; they are copyrighted.  If you see a quilt you're interested in, please feel free to contact us and we'll be happy to work with you!
  • This is a place to share - please feel free to comment on our posts and share pictures of your own projects, we love to see them!  If you have any urgent questions or feedback, please contact us at the shop for the quickest response.
We're excited to get started on our blogging journey, and hope you join us!  Subscribe to this blog and have new posts send straight to your email - there is a place on the right side of the page to do just that!
